The UK SAMSEA Branch recently came together just before Holy Week 2024, with Maurice Paul and his family graciously hosting the gathering in Leicester. The session radiated with camaraderie, unity, and mutual support, bringing together approximately 10 guests and 11 members, alongside their families.

A highlight of the evening was the warm reception extended to Lang Prosper, who had recently arrived in the UK. Langwa expressed an immediate sense of belonging, acknowledging the inclusive and relaxed atmosphere, where the focus on enjoyment and celebration permeated throughout.

Fr. Rigo set a reverent tone with the opening prayer, while Franki, our MC and Animator, adeptly guided the proceedings, ensuring an animated and engaging atmosphere. The room was abuzz with activity as guests eagerly participated, spurred on by spontaneous impulses to join in.

This gathering served as a prelude to the upcoming Holy Week festivities, emphasizing the importance of gathering in fellowship and celebration. A key takeaway was the recognition of the commitment and support extended to newcomers or those facing challenges in attending meetings or transitioning into daily routines. To address this, a buddy initiative was introduced, pairing members to offer mutual support and enhance communication with President Fomo.

In a special gesture of appreciation, Irene, though not directly affiliated with SAMSEA/SAMS, was honored as an honorary member for her consistent attendance and contributions. President Fomo expressed heartfelt gratitude to all attendees, leading by example as he took charge of the dance group for the night, fostering an atmosphere of joy and unity.

This gathering underscored the resilience and solidarity within the UK SAMSEA Branch, reaffirming our dedication to supporting one another and celebrating our shared bonds. Looking ahead, our next Face-to-Face meeting is scheduled for May, hosted by Fr. Rigo in Oxford. Following that, we’re excited to announce a trip to Scandinavia (Sweden) in July, hosted by Paul Berinyuy (Pufg Puff), with a special invitation extended to all SAMS Ex-students in the Scandinavia region.
